'The Witch in the Wall'

The Witch in the Wall
In ‘The Witch in the Wall’ installation she placed her sculpture in niches in a derelict kitchen wall at Sudley House in Liverpool as part of the first Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art in 1999.

Justine was interested in the intimate domesticity of a kitchen wall created to hot house peaches, apricots and other exotic sensual fruits. She created a series of shrines in the niches which celebrated the old belief in kitchen dieties and goddesses of fertility to recall the fecundity released by the now defunct wall
